I am delighted to share that Florida Atlantic University undergraduate student Isabella Zuniga has been selected to present her research on the role of DNA sensor pathways in Huntington’s disease at the 2026 Yale Undergraduate Research Conference (YURC) — https://www.yura.yale.edu/yurc.
Isabella conducts her research in my lab at the FAU Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute, where she investigates how activation of the cGAS–STING DNA-sensing pathway contributes to neuroinflammation and neuronal vulnerability in Huntington’s disease. Her project highlights her strong initiative, technical ability, and deep curiosity in understanding the molecular drivers of neurodegeneration.
This recognition is a well-deserved milestone that reflects Isabella’s dedication, scientific growth, and emerging excellence as a young neuroscientist.
